Craftsy takes the BEST pictures, right?

You remember I was talking about that class, right? That class I just don’t really stop talking about? It’s still coming. Probably sooner than you’re expecting.

I mean, there was ridiculously good light at the studio, but he also had this amazing DLSR that didn’t make a single sound while we were shooting. I JUST CAN’T, friends. How do you pay attention to your life when that’s in the room? Also, sock blanks are my new favorite thing.

I am so excited to share this with all of you. This time around, we worked in an actual kitchen studio which really helped- I maybe, possibly, potentially, DEFINITELY tried to fit way too much into six segments and this would have been totally impossible without working with live heat and water. (It’s just that I never feel like I’m teaching quite enough, so I try to cram as much as I can in! Agh. Lesson learned. THE TEACHER IS ALSO THE STUDENT.)

Those stoves were so good, too. So, so good. I tried to convince Stephanie, my producer, to trade my class materials- all of them!- for just one of the stoves, but she wasn’t totally sold on the idea. I think it was probably the shipping. Logistics can be such a pain in the ass, you know?

You can sort of/ kinda/ almost see the stove in this shot, in the upper right, a little. *Sob*.

I’m working on Tour de Fleece until the class comes out, restringing my banjo, and digging through fabric stash for cotton and linen to eco-print and natural dye. There was a sale at the co-op on fruit tea, something I don’t think I’ve ever been excited about before in my life, and I bought an obscene amount looking to use it as a dyestuff. I expect my wardrobe is about to take a turn for the decidedly weird, which isn’t exactly a bad thing.
